The Royal Air Force Museum London —
Communications Mission —
2018, Kin —

From surveillance and intelligence gathering to cyber communications, the role of the RAF far outstretches the training and deploying of fighter pilots. To highlight these stories, we created a technologically driven space to engage visitors with the modern realities of the Air Force.

This space is made up of three interactives across twelve terminals:

Detect – simulating the experience of a drone sensor operator, this interactive asks visitors to select objects of interest using a joystick, and capture them for analysis.

Defend – a hacker challenge: visitors are asked to repair a firewall, eliminate malware, and restore the data on a large touchscreen in order to regain control of the network.

Decide – a step by step decision making interactive that uses a custom rotary controller to highlight the breadth of options available to a Commander responsible for confirming and striking targets, and the contextual implications of each one.
