The Compass Lounge is a space which showcases NMM’s archives and encourages visitors to navigate through them using a variety of interactives. Key experiences are built into the gallery's furniture, inside plan chest drawers and ship deck windows. Each provides a different experience of the archive from scrolling overview to zoomable detail. 

Part of the project is the Compass Card system which lets people collect their own treasures from around the museum using a stamped barcode card. This can be used in the Lounge or at home to look up related online content from the archives.
